A message from ENO's President, Nancy Mahlow, on 5 September 2018:

I'm posting here regarding some serious issues that was mentioned at tonight's meeting. First, thank you to those we brought to my attention that this site is being "censored" and posts are being removed. I was told about this but had no idea how bad it was until tonight. Whoever has made it his/her mission to control this site, it's wrong. The same applies to the ENO website. Unless the information is offensive, threatening, demeaning, etc everyone has a right to voice their opinion. I have always stated we need to be mindful of each other, show respect, and build a positive relationship. I guess I have to ask: could this site or the ENO site have been hacked? See, I don't know that much about this stuff. Despite my comment, whatever is going on should stop.

The "milk crate" issue was discussed and was heard.

I want to thank everyone who attended the meeting, specially Michele Ramon for contacting neighborhoods and featuring them. Because there was some confusion regarding FB Live it didn't happen but the board will be discussing this at a special meeting. I support this new way to bring our meetings to everyone. We just need to discuss this as a board and fine tune things. It was mentioned that there is a lot going on and you are right. We as neighbors need to know and I hope ENO can help bring it to you all. And for the record, I don't care where you live, everyone is a neighbor! A huge thank you to Bridget for letting me know what has been going on. So proud of the hard work she and others from ARTspace are doing and starting a new neighborhood group; this is great. As always I am here to help, bring information, and most important communicate. Will be sending out more information on upcoming meetings. Thanks everyone!

Welcome

Welcome fellow neighbors! Eastside Neighborhood Organizatio (ENO) is happy to welcome you to our neighborhood. People who live on the Eastside make more than a great location choice; they enjoy the best of an urban lifestyle. Residents are within walking distance of schools, parks, shopping, churches, and medical facilities, as well as have easy access to CATA bus lines. We are in a convenient location to MSU, LCC, Cooley Law School, the Capitol, and Downtown Lansing, and we also have quick access to major highways.

Commitment to Community

On the Eastside, you'll find many people committed to preserving and improving their community and celebrating it's uniqueness. People who work with neighbors to develop creative solutions to problems and challenges. People who are good neighbors. The Eastside Neighborhood Organization is an umbrella group over 20 active neighborhood groups that serve nearly every part of the Eastside. These groups not only add names to the faces that pass by on the street but offer ways to encourage friendly relationships through participation in many activities such as: spring flower planting, summer picnics and block parties, organized youth sports, clean-up days, and old-fashion neighborhood caroling through the neighborhood.

These are just some of the things that make it easy to get to know your neighbors, and have fun at the same time. This well-developed network of organizations and the people who participate in them help to maintain the strong social fabric and sense of belonging that have long characterized the Eastside.
