(LANSING) – Mayor Andy Schor today announced that the City of Lansing will host its third annual coat drive to help provide new and gently used adult size coats to those in need. Coats will be collected Monday, October 11, 2021, through Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Hats and gloves will also be accepted. “Winter can be challenging for many,” said Mayor Schor. “I am asking community members to help those who face these challenges by donating new or gently used winter coats, hats and gloves. We need to help our neighbors stay safe, healthy and warm this winter season.” Drop-off Locations:
City Hall: 124 W. Michigan Avenue – outside on City Hall Plaza
Foster Community Center: 200 N. Foster Avenue
Gier Community Center: 2400 Hall Street
Schmidt Community Center: 5825 Wise Road
Letts Community Center: 1220 W. Kalamazoo Street
Please note, the Community Center drop-off locations are indoors. For information on hours, visit: https://lansingmi.gov/communitycenters. The City of Lansing Human Relations and Community Services (HRCS) Department will pass out coats, hats and gloves at Community Connect, an outreach event during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, in November. Details will be provided prior to the event.
ENO Hosting Trunk or Treat! The Eastside neighborhood Organization (ENO) will be hosting a Trunk or Treat, October 31st in the Foster Center parking lot from 6 – 8 pm, weather permitting. Come join the fun!
1. We are still looking for volunteers
2. Any donations to help pay some needed expenses
3. Do you know any bands (Jazz, Rock N Roll, R&B, Hip Hop, DJ’s, etc)
4. Arts & crafts
5. Car show
6. Information booths
7. And just hope everyone has a great time and help us say “thank you” to our local businesses, etc.

This year’s Souper will be on March 27 from 11AM to 2PM with pick-up only at the Eastern High School’s (626 Marshall StLansing, MI 48912) roundabout.
Every year ENO partners with a local organization. This year part of the proceeds will go towards the Davies Project!
For this year we thought we’d try pizza!
For $12 you will receive 2 pieces of pizza (cheese or pepperoni) from Arts Pub, a breadstick, salad, and dessert (donated from Sparrow)!More details to come! We are asking for pre-paid, pre-orders (and will share a PayPal app and cash app). The cutoff for ordering is March 24th.
You can pay with cash on the day of, but please make sure you message Theresa or Bridget from the Facebook page so we have your info and meal choices!
